John Hughes and 'Pretty in Pink'
Added 08.11
John Hughes, writer, director and producer of such iconic 1980s films as "Sixteen Candles," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," and "The Breakfast Club," passed away recently due to a heart attack. A figure who "defined teen angst in terms of the caste system of the suburban high school experience," according to L.A. Times film critic Betsy Sharkey, Hughes was captured in his element in this 1985 pictoral taken on the set of another of his seminal films, "Pretty in Pink."
